How to Have Good Luck. Do You Believe in Luck?

    Do You Believe in Luck?

So last night I was tucking my 6-year old son into bed and he said, “Dad, do you believe in Luck?”.  The answer I gave me 6-year old son was this, “I believe that good luck comes to those who work hard and I believe the harder you work, the luckier you get.”  For a 6-year old brain, that’s about as in-depth as I can go on the subject and still have him understand what I mean.  But of course, as with all things in life, the subject of how to have good luck is a bit more complex.

My philosophy on “good luck” comes from a great book called “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy.

Here’s the Formula for How to Have Good Luck.

    P + M + O + A = L

Which stands for Preparation + mindset + opportunity + Action = Luck

Here’s the thing.  Successful people are no “luckier” than unsuccessful people it’s just that #1, when opportunity crosses their path, they see it because their mindset is right … their attitude is in the right place.  Secondly, they are prepared for it.  They have the skills and the ability to do something with that opportunity and most importantly, they actually take action.  They do something about it.  Richard Branson once said, “I have not been any more lucky or unlucky than anyone else.  The difference is when luck came my way, I took advantage of it.”

Why Most Don’t Know How To Have Good Luck.

Many are simply not able to see opportunity when it comes their way.  This is why mindset is so important.  You cannot see opportunity if you’re not looking for it and you can’t look for something if you don’t believe it exists.  This is why your mindset is so incredibly important.  Surround yourself with successful people to enhance your belief in your own ability to have good luck and find success.  Read books that feed your mind.  Here’s a few of my favorites …

    My Favorite Books on Mindset:

“The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker

So … Do You Believe in Luck?

lepreachaunI certainly do.  I believe that if you live in a free society, you’re lucky.  I believe that the harder you work, the more luck comes into your life.  I believe that if your attitude is right, you will recognize opportunity when it presents itself.  And if you are well equipped and unafraid, you will do what all successful people do … you will take action.

  • How To Achieve Success – The Secret of My Success in Business

How To Achieve Success – The Secret of My Success in Business

How To Achieve Success in your network marketing business or Any area of your life.

So before I talk about how to achieve success, let’s first clarify that the opposite of success is not failure.  There is no such thing as failure.  You either keep going until you succeed or you quit.  Master Yoda said it best, “Do, or do not, there is not try”.

So with that being said, How does one achieve success?  How have I achieved success in my business and in my health and in my finances and in my relationships?  I did it by getting uncomfortable.  If you want to be successful, you are going to have to get uncomfortable for a period of time.  In the times in my life when I quit (notice I didn’t say “failed”), it was because I wanted to remain comfortable.

    Why Do People Quit?

I didn’t fail to lose weight.  Instead, I see it as I quit staying in shape because it was more comfortable to eat processed foods and not go to the gym

I don’t see that I failed in my first 3 network marketing companies (even though I recruited zero people).  Instead, I quit my network marketing company because it was more comfortable to not pick up the phone or learn a new set of skills or learn how to market or how to generate leads.

Once I got out of my comfort zone and decided to do what others were unwilling to do, I started to get results that others were not able to get.

Discomfort is your friend.  Embrace it.  Push through the discomfort and you will come out the other side victorious and stronger for it.

    Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself!

So when you’re starting to feel overwhelmed at the thought of an enormous task ahead of you …

When you’re starting to feel discouraged that you don’t yet possess the skills you need to succeed in your business …

Stop feeling sorry for yourself, and recognize that the discomfort you’re feeling means that you’re growing.  It means that your mind is expanding to new ideas.  It means you’re becoming open to trying new things.  This is good news.

And here’s the best part.  The days when I feel the happiest … when I feel the most accomplished … are the days when I got a little out of my comfort zone and I dedicate myself to staying focused on how to achieve success.

The Secret To Eternal Happiness …

And therein lies the secret to happiness in your life.  One word … Progress.  As long as you’re moving forward.  Toward your goals instead of away from them, you will remain happy.  I know I do.

So get out of your comfort zone.

Take responsibility for your own success.

Recognize that there is no such thing as failure – only quitting before you succeed.

    And embrace discomfort.

Successful people act in spite of fear and discomfort.  While Unsuccessful people let it paralyze them, and they use it as an excuse to give up on their dreams.
