Are You Suffering from Information Overload?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or suffering from information overload in your business, I want to help. First let me assure you that information overload is completely normal and natural. It’s actually a good thing because it means that your mind is being opened up to new ideas and new concepts and new business strategies. Regardless of how “normal” it is to experience information overload, I know that it’s frustrating. It’s one of the most common complaints that I hear from my students and one of the biggest hurdles they seem to face in trying to achieve success.
The cause of information overload.
The biggest reason why people experience information overload is lack of action. Confucius once said, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand”? So why don’t more people take action on the information they acquire? The main reason is fear of failure. They feel they don’t know enough so they keep studying until they feel they have everything perfectly ready to go and by that time, they are paralyzed by too much information and they can’t figure out where to start. The truth is a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step and if you wait for every light to turn green before you take your initial step, you’ll never ever get started.
A Daily Routine and Consistent Action Will Always Cure Information Overload!
Most people fail to take action because they are afraid to fail or they believe they might not get the result their hoping for. And the truth is … they might not get the result they’re hoping for. But that’s not failure. That’s a measurable result. When you take action, you can look at the result (or lack thereof) and determine why your actions did or didn’t give you the result you want. A failed attempt just means that you’re one step closer to success.
